Teaching the Rhythmically Challenged

Participants will be guided through an examination and analysis of various rhythm patterns to discover what makes them difficult to read.  At the root of this difficulty lies the fact that many students are unable to shift from one beat level to another (i.e. quarter notes to eighth notes to sixteenth notes, etc.).

Various rhythmic combinations will be presented along with a series of exercises to demonstrate a successful, systematic approach to learning and teaching these difficult patterns.  Even those who struggle with rhythm can be successful by following these steps.

60 minutes.
